When determining the contour temperature, the feasibility of the intended mold temperature control system must be checked:
Water temperature control for contour temperatures up to 95 °C.
Pressurized water temperature control for maximum contour temperatures of 140 °C to 180 °C depending on the device type.
Oil tempering for maximum contour temperatures of 200 °C to 350 °C depending on the device type.
When determining the contour temperature, note that this has a particularly strong influence on the cooling time.
The type of cooling medium circulation (constant or intermittent) has no significant influence on the cooling time.
Additional cooling by means of a temperature control bath or cooling gauge parallel to the mold cycle time serves to reduce the production throughput time, especially for thick-walled molded parts.
